Miss. Bowen was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She has been writing since high school and put her passion into focus by joining the yearbook staff and writing plays for the performing arts group in college. She has a B.A. in Liberal Arts, a M.A. in English and is a self-proclaimed bibliophile.

She has read over two hundred classic literature books and is an unaccredited author for the children's book, Street Cries. She is the mother of a five-year-old boy and is currently teaching English at the college level. She plans to go back to school to obtain her PH.D and is working on a screenplay. One of the things on her bucket list is to win an Oscar for best original screenplay.
